The first thing you need to know about me is that I have a superhero mother who didn’t just teach me to read, she taught me to love it. Before I even started school, I loved everything about books, and by the time I was done with kindergarten, I was writing, reading, and well on my journey into a world of words and the immense power they carry.

I grew up in Layton, Utah and added to my love of words a love of music, crafts, and soccer. I have two incredibly intelligent little sisters who love reading just as much as I do, and a genius baby brother who is already cultivating the same love as he learns to read way above his level at just three years old. It was here, too, where I met another superhero, my husband, who continuously supports my crazy dreams and takes care of me, loves me, and teases me in a way that makes me unbelievably happy.

Now a senior English major at Brigham Young University-Idaho, words have become everything I live, eat, and breathe. I believe that the words you choose to read have the power to determine who you are. So we should all seek out the best books so that we can become the best people that we can, and I’m here to help you with that! I’ll let you know which books I think are important, beautiful pieces of art that will help enlighten and encourage you, and which ones I think will fill your mind with lies, bring you down, or just aren’t worth your time.

I also believe that each of us are endowed with a unique sense of divine creativity, and I’m here to help you with that too! Since my creativity manifests itself primarily through — you guessed it –words, I’ll be here to provide you with all kinds of tips, suggestions, and tutorials for writing, but much of what I post can be adapted to other creative endeavors. I don’t just want to create, I want to help you do it too!

Finally and most importantly, I believe in Jesus Christ. I believe that He lives, and I believe that it is because of Him that I am able to do something like this in the first place. I believe in a God who loves unconditionally, who plans the best for us, and who will guide us if only we let him. And I believe in doing everything that I can to cultivate that some love for everyone around me.
